Mikasa's production record of three fabulous females - Medicine
Woman, Moon River, and now the wonderful Miss Mira, makes it very
difficult for us to let Mikasa leave WoodsEdge. Purchased at the
Celebrity Auction from Star Sapphire Ranch, Mikasa has two Top Ten
World Futurity awards to her credit! We sold her eldest daughter,
Medicine Woman, to the Kirkland's, whose first birth produced Tops
the Ridge. At his very first show, he won his class at the 2004
World Futurity as Juvenile Suri Male, went on to win second in the
2005 World Futurity, and then sold to the Gerken's for $35,000.
Moon River began her show career for Michael & Linda Pierce
after they purchased her at the Co-Rect Auction. She was First Yearling
Suri Female at the 2004 ALSA Grand Nationals and was "in the
ribbons" under three out of four judges at the 2005 Grand Slam!
All in all, you can see Mikasa's pedigree has performed exceptionally
well, both at auctions and in the show ring. Mira remains at WoodsEdge
to carry forward this profitable pedigree at WoodsEdge, while her
Peruvian Kaliedascope cria (which will have a similar pedigree to
Tops the Ridge) will go to the lucky new owner. We look forward
to seeing that sensational cria at the 2007 spring shows!
