Hives
of Honeybees Arrive at WoodsEdge
The
art of beekeeping is truly fascinating. As hundreds of "worker
bees" are out pollinating crops, flowers and trees, one queen
bee is ensconced in each hive. A single queen bee populates the
entire hive, laying thousands of eggs each day to produce a remarkable
society of nectar producers. When the workers return home laden
with pollen, the bees begin their honey making process, yielding
two products-honey and beeswax.
Since
we designed and installed a special area for the hives, we've all
been bee-fully busy making new honey products. You'll find raw honey
in 1 lb. and 5 lb. jars at our Farm Store. Once you try our whipped
honey with cinnamon for your morning toast or bagel, you'll become
an instant fan. Those plagued by allergies will see a lessening
of symptoms when local honey is added to your daily diet.
Our
beeswax candles come in many shapes. From our elegant hand dipped
beeswax tapers to our big cube candles, you'll appreciate the negative
ions (those are the good ones) emitted by burning beeswax, which
help to eliminate mildew, pollen, and other toxins from your home.
We also have a fun selection of molded beeswax candles from pinecones
to old fashioned bee hives!
Our
honey soaps will nourish and replenish your skin naturally. Choose
from our decorative molded honey soaps or the traditional honey
soap bars with fresh lemongrass, soothing lavender, or invigorating
rosemary and spearmint. Kids love to wash their hands with our butterfly
and dragon shaped honey soaps!
Purify
the air you breathe, soften your hands and skin,
and nourish your whole body with our fresh local honey.
We've got everything you need to bee healthy!
